Description

In their exploration of new lands and quest for glory, Spanish conquistadors brought with them the essential elements of western culture to the new world, primarily horses.
Learn about the bold adventures of the first European explorers of the New World. Follow their journeys on maps depicting their amazing discoveries.  Join in reenacting the ritual of planting the flag to claim a new land! Understand why the horse was such an important part of the explorers' victories. Hear the stories of the greatest
of the explorers: Hernán Cortez, Francisco Pizzaro, Juan de Oñate and the first European to set foot on Texas land, Cabeza de Vaca.

Registration: Choose your preferred timeslot, then choose your preferred method of viewing. ONLY sites that choose videoconferencing and submit questions will be considered for an interactive slot. All others will be "non-interactive."

  • Videoconferencing - Must have videoconferencing equipment that is H.323 compatible.
  • Live Stream - View a video stream from the computer. The link to access the stream will be sent to registered schools prior to the event.
  • Recording - View a recording of the event from the computer after the event concludes. The link to the recording will be sent to registered schools after the event.
